Lisa Forgrave
Medical Director
As the Medical Director of Hope and Serenity Farm Sanctuary, Lisa brings a wealth of experience from her 32-year tenure at the Great Falls Animal Hospital, where she works as Office Manager. She has consistently demonstrated her profound passion for the bond between humans and animals.
Lisa's particular interest lies in elder care within veterinary medicine, guiding pet owners on how to maintain the health and happiness of their aging pets and offering emotional support during the challenging process of loss. This passion extends to her work with Frosted Faces, where she provides home hospice care for senior pets, guiding owners through the nuances of caring for older animals.
At Hope and Serenity, Lisa finds fulfillment in helping our elderly animal residents find comfort and observing recently rescued animals as they learn to trust and enjoy human companionship. She marvels at the interspecies relationships formed within our sanctuary, describing them as "incredible to witness" and praising the "beautiful sight" of the care and affection between diverse species.
Maintaining the health of our sanctuary's 200+ residents is indeed a full-time job, one that puts Lisa's organizational skills to the test. She is responsible for ordering and administering vaccines to the majority of our animals, managing our donated medications, and ensuring prompt medical care for any residents who fall ill. This challenging role allows Lisa to fully utilize her veterinary training, a task she loves and values. Her dedication to and joy from her time at Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary are palpable and deeply appreciated.
