Mission & History
Our Mission
Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary was created to foster a compassionate environment where rescued farm animals and humans can form meaningful relationships.
We are dedicated to promoting the inherent value of all creatures and advancing the understanding that farm animals deserve the same love and respect as household pets. We provide a therapeutic and supportive haven for people from all walks of life, facilitating their growth through the power of human-animal bonds. Through education, community partnerships, and advocacy, we aim to inspire a more compassionate world where all beings are cherished and respected. Join us in spreading warmth, love, and understanding through the unity of all creatures at our sanctuary.
Our History
Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary was founded by Renee Small in 2017. Nestled in picturesque Nokesville, Virginia, the sanctuary has since become a place where love meets compassion, uniting animals and people in a bond of mutual respect and understanding.
The sanctuary is open to the public (by appointment) to share the therapeutic and transformative power of human-animal interactions. Today, guided tours and educational opportunities serve as pathways to broaden horizons for everyone, including and especially those with emotional and mental challenges.
From a seed of an idea in 2017 to a flourishing sanctuary today, Hope & Serenity Farm Sanctuary remains committed to its mission: nurturing love and compassion between humans and animals and fostering a sense of community that values every being. Join us and feel the warmth of our sanctuary, where every life is cherished.
Over the years, our work has extended beyond our sanctuary's boundaries. We've established strong partnerships with local institutions like Patriot High School and Kettle Run High School's EMPLOY job training programs, Fauquier County Public Schools Transitions program, Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, and Willing Warriors Retreat for veterans and active duty military.
